NEW FACES LEAD THE WAY FOR LADY BLUEJAYS IN EMPORIA

EMPORIA, Kan. – Lady Bluejay Track & Field got their second week of competition underway after traveling just 50 minutes west to Emporia for the Emporia State Relays. This marks the second meet of the season for the Bluejays where the full team has participated.

800m
Kylie Arnold, Sarah Dark, Adelia Janssen, and Andrea Serrano opened the action for the Lady Bluejays with the women's 800m race. Dark snagged 5oth with a time of 2:56.78.

High Jump

Triple Jump
This week the Bluejays were represented by two athletes in the women's Triple Jump. Allie von Leonrod was joined this week by D'myia Cox. Cox finished fifth overall, jumping 10.71m (35'1.75"), while von Leonrod jumped 9.11m (29'10.75") to finish 11th.

Shot Put
Ali House blew her performance from the women's Shot Put last week out of the water with her performance this week in Emporia. House threw 9.81m (32'2.25") to finish 32nd overall.

Discus
Andelyn Johnson was the sole Bluejay athlete competing in the women's Discus, throwing for a distance of 33m (108'3").

Hammer Throw
Tabor also sent Johnson and House to compete in the women's Hammer Throw, after both competed in the event last week at the Bethel Invite. Johnson led the Lady Bluejays and finished 24th with a throw of 36.24m (118'11"), and House threw 35.35m (116') to earn 26th place.

Javelin
Tabor would see another familiar face compete for the first time this season in Lillie Veer. Veer showed off her skills in the Javelin and proved that she has other talents aside from playing basketball. Veer would be awarded a ninth-place finish after a monster throw of 36.63m (120'2").

Head Coach Dave Koreker was incredibly pleased with the way his team performed, "We had a number of good performances at ESU on Thursday including, Jordan Lowrie, after only 2 practices, cleared 5'3" in her first meet and placed 2nd. Lillie Veer had the best javelin throw so far in the KCAC with a throw of 120' 2" after only 3 practices."
