HILLSBORO, Kan. — The Bluejays took game three from the Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles to finish out their 3-game series. Tabor took game one on March 12 and OKWU took game two.
Payton Tinkler was the winning pitcher for game three, 21-10.
The first inning started with a walk to Tyler Mata Lloyd and a Garryn Plummer homerun to get the Bluejays on the board, 2-0.
Oklahoma Wesleyan scored 3 to answer back, 2-3.
The Bluejays didn't let up at the bottom of the second, scoring five runs. Trotter Boston hit a double, Isaiah Cohens walked, and Mata Lloyd walked. Plummer got on with a fielder's choice and scored Boston and Cohens. Mata Lloyd then stole home. Cody Moore hit a double to move pinch-runner Mikey Acosta to third. Juan Rosa-Gonzalez hit an RBI to score Acosta. To finish the inning, Miguel Ramos III hit a 2-run home run, 8-3. OKWU scored 1 the next inning, 8-4.
Micah Dvorak was walked with two outs in the third when Mata Lloyd hit a home run, 10-4.
The Eagles scored 3 off a homerun, 10-7.
The fourth inning for the Bluejays was their biggest inning scoring 10 runs. Boston, Dvorak, and Rosa-Gonzalez all hit home runs and took advantage of the runners on base, 20-7.
OKWU added 3 to inch back into the game but had no more gas to score after the fifth, 20-10.
A home run for Trotter Boston in the sixth added the run of the game to finish the game in a run rule, 21-10.
The Bluejays travel to Texarkana, Texas to take on the Texas A&M University- Texarkana Eagles on Saturday, March 23rd for a doubleheader and on Sunday, March 24th.
