BLUEJAYS TAKE TWO FROM THE WARRIORS

HILLSBORO, Kan. — The Bluejays were on the road for the past week and finally got to play at home over the weekend. The guys got to take on the Sterling College Warriors.

Assistant coach Jake Jones said, "First off, I have to give credit to Sterling. They gave themselves a chance to win all three games. That is a tough task for anyone on the road in our conference.
As for us, we did not play our best. There is much to look at from this weekend for things to improve on however even though things were not going the best, I am glad that we found a way to pull out wins in the first two games. We have been playing good baseball so we can not dwell on it too much. With that being said when you come to Tabor there is a Tradition and high standard where you can not let these sorts of games multiply."

GAME ONE- Bluejays 5 Warriors 2

Cutter Smith got the win on the mound. Tyler Mata Lloyd started the game off with a base hit to the shortstop, Isaiah Cohens singled to the third baseman, Cody Moore singled to left, and with bases loaded, Juan Rosa-Gonzalez got walked to score the first run. Miguel Ramos III hit a sac fly to center to score Cohens, 2-0.

Sterling scored their first runs in the top of the fifth inning to tie it up, 2-2.

Moore got the bottom of the eighth going with a hit to right, Ramos III hit a triple to get pinch runner Conner Flynn to score. Marcelo Aguirre hit a single for Ramos III to score. Garryn Plummer added another run off a double to left field for pinch runner Mikey Acosta to score, 5-2.

GAME TWO- Bluejays 22 Warriors 21

Xander Roberts was the winning pitcher for game two while Garrick Levesque saved the game. The Bluejays score 1 in the first inning. Garryn Plummer doubled to left and Juan Rosa-Gonzalez hit a single up the middle to score pinch-runner Mikey Acosta, 1-0.

Sterling scored 8 in the third to get on top of the Jays, 1-8.

Tyler Mata Lloyd hit a single to right then stole second. Plummer got walked, and Cody Moore hit a single to make it bases-loaded. Rosa-Gonzalez hit a sac fly to score Mata Lloyd. Miguel Ramos III hit a single to score Mikey Acosta. Trotter Boston was hit by a pitch to have bases loaded again, Marcelo Aguirre was walked to score another run, and Micah Dvorak was hit by a pitch to score Ramos III. Sebastian Sarabia got to pinch hit and hit a double for two runners to score, 7-8.

The Bluejays scored 4 runs in the fourth, 11-8. A Warrior home run added one to their score, 11-9.

Mata Lloyd was hit by a pitch and then got to score off a Plummer bomb. Shortly after, Rosa-Gonzalez went yard to make it a 14-9 game. Sterling scored 4 runs the next inning, 14-13.
