OLATHE, Kan. – The Bluejay Softball team continued their busy schedule this week by making the two-hour drive to Olathe to take on the Pioneers of MidAmerica Nazarene University. The Bluejays were coming off a home series against Doane University last Friday, which they split, while the Pioneers were coming off a split series at Bethany College.

Game One

The Bluejays would start the game behind, as the Pioneers would score in the bottom of the 1
st Inning, when Cordelia Hanger would score off a single from MNU's Robin Todd. Neither team would have much luck scoring until the bottom of the 5
th Inning, when Kelly Stoakes hit a two-run homer for the Pioneers to make the lead 3-0.

Just when it looked like the Bluejays would drop the first game,
Reyna Enriquez would score first after an error from the Pioneers.
Darcy Gillen would then hit a three-run bomb right down the center field line, followed by a solo homer from
Cheyenne Washington to put Tabor up 5-3.

The Bluejays would quickly get the last three outs to take the first game, with
Marisa Carranza recording the win in the circle to improve to 2-1 overall.

Game Two

Fresh off a solid comeback win, the Bluejays looked to build on that momentum in the second game. The teams would pace each other, each scoring two runs in the 1
st Inning and one in the 2
nd.
Payten Staley would score on a wild pitch, while
Darcy Gillen would score off a double from
Jordyn Farren and
Leyla Ayala homered in the 2
