LADY BLUEJAYS CONTROL MATCH AGAINST BETHANY

LINDSBORG, Kan. – The Lady Bluejays entered an exciting mid-week conference matchup on Wednesday evening, traveling down the road to Bethany College where they aimed to receive their third consecutive win against the Swedes. Last weekend's match against Saint Mary proved to be a difficult defensive battle, and the Bluejays looked to improve their conference record going forward. Bethany entered the contest with an overall record of 0-13-1 and a conference record of 0-8-1, while Tabor came into the competition with an overall record of 4-6-4 and a conference record of 3-4-2.

Tabor began the match demonstrating consistent offensive dominance, with a handful of Lady Bluejays looking to score within the first 20 minutes. None of them were able to capitalize on their opportunities and find the back of the net, keeping the match scoreless for a majority of the half. The Swedes would only manage a single shot on goal during the first half, giving Neve Mulrooney a save to add to the record book. Raegan King scored the first and only goal of the match in the 33rd minute, putting the Bluejays ahead going into halftime.

Kicking off the second half, Tabor remained in total control just as they had been the past 45 minutes. Another unit of Bluejays took their chance at scoring, including Haven Deckinger and April Ochoa, both of which displaying a strong offensive performance on the evening. The rest of the match proved to be fairly uneventful, wrapping up with a total of 26 shots by Tabor's offense and a single shot on goal by Bethany. The match concluded with a 1-nil final score, improving Tabor's conference record to 4-4-2 on the season.

Looking ahead, Tabor will host Avila University on their home turf this Saturday for an exciting Senior Day matchup. The Eagles will enter the contest with an overall record of 9-3-3 and a conference record 6-2-2. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and will include a Senior ceremony as well.
