BLUEJAYS FALL TO SPIRES ON HOMECOMING

HILLSBORO, Kan. – Tabor's Homecoming festivities reached a conclusion on Saturday evening, as Bluejay Volleyball welcomed in the Spires from the University of Saint Mary.

Saturday's battle saw the Lady Bluejays coming off a tough loss on the road at Bethel, while the Spires entered the match fresh off a win over Bethany.

Saint Mary took the first two sets easily, 25-14, but the Lady Bluejays mounted a strong fight in Set Three. The third set brought plenty of back-and-forth action between the two squads, as Tabor took a 23-22 lead prior to a USM timeout. The Bluejays continued to fight but ultimately fell in the final set, 25-23, as the Spires took the match, 3-0.

Katie Hofer finished with a team-high eight kills, while Catherine Eddy and Brindelyn Schneider followed each with four kills.

Cocone Matsuzawa dominated the assists category, leading the team with 19, while Naera Tschus once again led the squad with 10 digs.

With the loss, TC falls to 4-18 overall on the season and 2-5 in KCAC play.

The Lady Bluejays face a short turnaround as Bethany makes the trip from Lindsborg on Wednesday for a 7:00pm match. Live stats will be available and the match will be broadcast live on the Tabor Webcast channel as well as on the KCAC Network.
