WICHITA, Kan. – The Tabor College Lady Bluejays will jump back into Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Action this evening after playing a non-conference game against NCAA Division II No. 16 Pittsburg State University last Saturday. The Lady Bluejays will make the short trek down the road to Wichita to take on the Friends University Lady Falcons. The Falcons last played on Saturday as well, earning a victory against Missouri Valley College.
The Lady Bluejays got out to a solid 9-2 during the first half of the season and will look to continue to build on that while looking past last Saturday's setback.
Lillie Veer leads Tabor in scoring with 9.1 points per game, shooting 47.4% from field goal range and 50.0% from three.
Madie McCoy is right behind her with 8.8 points per game, shooting 48.1% from field goal range and 46.7% from three, while
Alyvia Owens comes in third in scoring, averaging 8.4 points per game and shooting 50.0% from the field.
On the defensive side of the ball, McCoy is currently averaging 1.8 steals per game and the Lady Jays as a whole are averaging 8.5 steals per game. Tabor is currently tied for 37
th in the NAIA for points per game allowed, allowing 59.3 points per game, which also puts the Lady Bluejays at No. 1 in the KCAC for points per game allowed.
Friends in led in scoring by Rayland Garner, averaging 16.3 points per game and shooting 50.3% from the field. Taylor Jackson leads the Falcons on the boards, bringing down 11.2 rebounds per game.
The Falcons currently average 71.5 points per game while the Lady Bluejays average 70.1 points per game, while both teams hold opponents to 60 or less points per game, so anything can happen tonight.
The game will tip off at 6 pm and will be broadcast live on the
