Hillsboro, Kan.    The Tabor Bluejays started their KCAC conference on a good note beating the Moundbuilders last weekend in five sets. On September 27th, they took on the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes at home in hopes of keeping their winning streak alive.

During set one, the Bluejays came back from a good deficit but it wasn't enough from the lead the Coyotes had, and they ended up losing, 19-25. After a tough first set, the second set didn't get any easier for the Bluejays falling, 11-25. The third set looked much better after the Bluejays had a huddle and ended up giving the Coyotes a run for their money. The ladies played close the entire set but just didn't have enough momentum to continue losing, 22-25. 

A few key players for the Bluejays include sophomore, Fiona Simpiao with 12 kills, and sophomore, Sammie Saunders with 7 kills. Senior, Emma Rhodes with 26 assists and 7 digs. Also with 7 digs, senior, Kenna Brandes. 

Head Coach Casey Quiggle said this about the game, "Coming into the game, we knew KW would play tough. They have some good players and we prepared as best we could. We struggled to get momentum going in the first two sets and were not able to execute with our blocking and hitting. While it was back and forth in the third set, we still couldn't build a lead and in the end, we couldn't do enough to pull out another comeback win. We know we have a great team and can compete with anyone in the KCAC. However, our efforts fell short tonight and we have to move on to the next game." 

The ladies now have a conference record of 1-1 and overall 9-6. The Bluejays' next upcoming game is Saturday, September 30 in Springfield, Missouri against the Evangle Valors at 2:00 p.m.  

Tabor College is a Christ-centered institution located in Hillsboro, Kansas.  The Bluejays are members of the NAIA and compete in the KCAC.
