Box Score WICHITA, Kan. The Bluejays came into the game against Friends with a spring in their step after winning comfortably over local rivals McPherson on Wednesday night. However, despite their best efforts it was not enough to beat the Falcons, losing 2-1.
Tabor came out of the gates flying with an early goal from senior Sydney Takash, who was able to put away a well-executed training ground move to give the Bluejays a 1-0 lead.
"The game was where we needed it to be in the first half and we executed a goal straight off the training ground," Head Coach Ian Thomson said.
The second half brought the Bluejays into more of a defensive mode as they looked to see out the win, as the Falcons had nine shots and 5 corners. Unfortunately, the Falcons capitalized off this pressure with goals coming in the 46th and 64th minute, ultimately giving the Falcons the 2-1 win.
"In the second half we lost our engine and our intent," said coach Thompson, noting he is looking to add a more consistent playing style going into next weekend's game.
The Bluejays will be on the road on Saturday, September 23rd to face the Moundbuilders of Southwestern College, with kick-off scheduled for 11:00 am.
Tabor College is a Christ-centered institution located in Hillsboro, Kansas. The Bluejays are members of the NAIA and compete in the KCAC.
