Box Score HILLSBORO, Kan. The Tabor Bluejays faced a high-quality Hastings Broncos side on Saturday afternoon and despite losing 1-0, they put up a valiant display.
The first half of the match was very much in control for the Broncos as they generated well in the offense. The Bluejay defense was up for the challenge with Kylie Bush, Melissa Salazar, Kyler Dunham, and Madison Rinas making great plays. The only slip up was a Bronco goal in the 22nd minute.
The second half brought more urgency from the Bluejay offense as they looked to even up the score. Tabor looked to have a great opportunity to tie it up late following a Hastings red card, but they were unable to get a shot off.
"I was pleased to see us stay resilient and organized. Once we clean up a few things we will be better able to compete with a team like this going forward," Head Coach Ian Thomson said.
The Bluejays will open conference play against McPherson College at home on Wednesday, September 13th, with kickoff set for 5 pm at Joel H. Wiens Stadium.
Tabor College is a Christ-centred institution located in Hillsboro, Kansas. The Bluejays are members of the NAIA and compete in the KCAC.
