BLUEJAY WOMENS SOCCER HOLD USAO TO JUST ONE

Box Score

Hillsboro, Kan.   The Tabor women's soccer team faced the University of Science and Arts on Tuesday, August 26th, with a point to prove following the loss to Bellevue University.

Despite losing 1-0 the Blue Jays left the field with optimism, showing improvement from last season's 9-0 loss to the Drovers.

"I think it shows the growth of our players from last year. It shows the talent of our newer players that we've brought in and how far we've come. Even though it wasn't a complete performance in a win, it's just the beginning of how good we can be," Head Coach Ian Thomson said.

Tabor created well in the offensive end with big chances falling to Seniors Sydney Takash and Marie Seeger. Defensively, the Bluejays put up a strong fight with Sophomore Mallorie Pearson and Freshman Brianna Johnson anchoring the back four.

"While this performance was not a complete performance, it was more of the standard we have talked about since the first practice. We have high expectations for this year, and this was the start of what we expect today and a day out," Thomson said.

The Bluejays will be on the road for the weekend game at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska with kick-off at 5:30 pm.

Tabor College is a Christ-centered institution located in Hillsboro, Kansas. The Bluejays are members of the NAIA and compete in the KCAC.
