Athletic Background:
Dale Woods enters his first season on the Tabor College football staff as an assistant defensive line coach. He comes to Tabor from Tunica Academy in Mississippi. Prior to landing the defensive line job at Tunica Academy, Woods coached at Oskaloosa High School (IA), assisting the Indians to an 8 – 3 record.
Woods was a NAIA all-American defensive lineman at William Penn University in Iowa. In 2009, he was the Midwest Collegiate Conference Player of the year. That same season Woods also led the NAIA in tackles-for-loss in one season. Woods was a unanimous First Team All-Conference selection in both the 2009 – 2010 football seasons. Woods currently holds William Penn’s record for most sacks in a season.

Coaching Style:
My coaching style is player-oriented. As a coach I’m here to help each player adapt to the football program and the college community. Through assistance and passion for football each player is influenced in effort and hustle. When players believe, everyone succeeds.

What makes Tabor athletics special is the diverse background of each player. It is a pleasure to share in conversations with athletes from so many different places. The range of experiences across our country is amazing.
How do you integrate faith into coaching:
Prayer before the start of practice and games is how faith is integrated in my coaching.
