HILLSBORO, Kan. – Tabor College has a long history of athletic tradition, and fans will get a sneak peak of some of this history every Friday in the form of Flashback Friday.
 
In this week's installment of Flashback Friday, the spotlight shines on Bluejay Football.
 
Tabor College Football kicked off their first season of competition in the fall of 1967, and since then, the Bluejays have met Sterling College on the gridiron 57 times. The Warriors won the first meeting between the two programs in 1967, 26-7, but the tide turned in 1968 after Tabor joined the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC), with Tabor winning the first league contest between the two teams, 14-13.
 
Over the years, Sterling gained the upper hand, with the Warriors holding a 33-24 lead in the all-time series, but Tabor has made a resurgence, winning seven of the last 10 meetings, including each of the last four contests between the teams.
 
While they may not be each other's primary rivals, Sterling and Tabor have many similarities, with both boasting a strong tradition of Christian education in rural central Kansas. This creates a unique feel anytime the two programs meet, creating for an exciting gameday atmosphere.
