LADY BLUEJAYS SET TO TAKE ON No. 2 SEEDED BETHEL IN KCAC TOURNAMENT FIRST ROUND

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – With the conclusion of the KCAC Women's Basketball regular season this past Saturday, a new part of the season starts on Wednesday with the opening of the 2025-26 KCAC Women's Basketball Tournament. Tabor is set to take on a team they know very well in the Bethel Threshers.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Downed Avila in a decisive 68-43 win on Senior Day on Saturday
  • Landry O'Brien led the Bluejays with 15 points in the win
  • Adrian Hazelwood did an outstanding job cleaning the boards, hauling in eight total rebounds (two offensive, six defensive)
  • Hailey Contreras and Megan Shafer snagged three steals
  • Tayon Smith and Lillie Veer recorded two blocks each in the win
  • Tabor shot 51.0% (26-51) from the field, 41.2% (7-17) from beyond the arc, and 66.7% (8-12) from the free throw line
 
LAST TIME AGAINST THE THRESHERS
  • Last met on February 18th in Hillsboro
  • Tabor pulled out a gritty defensive win to even up the series, 48-41
  • Tayton Smith and Anna Lambert led the Bluejays offensively with 11 points each
  • Smith hauled in an impressive 14 total rebounds (one offensive, 13 defensive) in the win
  • Held Bethel to just 30.4% (14-46) from the field, 25.0% (3-12) from beyond the arc, and 66.7% (10-15) from the free throw line
  • The Bluejays forced BC into 15 total turnovers
 
SCOUTING THE THRESHERS
  • 20-8 on the season, 17-5 in conference play
  • Clinched the No. 2 seed in the KCAC Tournament
  • 12-2 inside Thresher Gymnasium
  • Kendall Locke continues to prove herself as one of the best players in the conference, averaging 18.1 points per game, while Karlee Locke (14.4 points per game) and Madyson McKinzie (13.5 points per game) are also averaging double figures
  • Finished the regular season with a 78-61 win over York at home on Saturday
  • McKinzie and Caryn Yoder scored a team-high 16 points each in Saturday's win

  • 115 total matchups in the series, dating back to 1962
  • Bethel won the first meeting in 1962, 39-25
  • Tabor's largest margin of victory came by way of a 46-point win in 1982, 76-30
  • The Bluejays have won seven of the last 10 meetings between the two teams
  • Tabor leads the all-time series, 68-47
