BLUEJAY WOMEN SET TO TAKE ON RIVAL STERLING ON SATURDAY

STERLING, Kan. – Bluejay Women's Basketball will head to Sterling College on Saturday for a crucial KCAC road matchup, as Tabor looks to keep building momentum from their last conference victory. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. in Sterling, Kan.
LAST TIME OUT
·       Earned a dominant home win over McPherson on Wednesday, 85-58
·       Tayton Smith led the Bluejays with 16 points and 8 rebounds
·       Lillie Veer also added 15 points in the win
·       Tabor shot an efficient 50.8% (32-63) from the field
·       The Bluejays were lighting it up from deep, shooting 66.7% (12-18) from three-point range
 
LAST TIME AGAINST THE WARRIORS
·       Last met in the KCAC Semifinals on March 1st, 2025
·       Sterling defeated Tabor, 83-64, to advance to the conference championship
·       Saturday's contest marks the first meeting between the two programs since the postseason matchup
·       Both Lillie Veer and Kali Briar had double-digit points in that game

SERIES HISTORY VS STERLING
·       The series dates back to 1962
·       The two programs have met 127 times all-time
·       Tabor once held a 13-game winning streak against Sterling from Feb. 25, 1977, to Jan. 15, 1983
·       The Bluejays' largest margin of victory in the series was a 52-10 win on January 3, 1975
·       Tabor will look to carry its offensive efficiency and defensive intensity into Saturday's road test as the Bluejays continue their push in the KCAC standings.
 
BLUEJAY CONFERENCE STANDOUTS
·       Tayton Smith continues to be a force for Tabor, averaging 12.6 points per game (23rd in the KCAC) and 10.1 rebounds per game, ranking 2nd in the KCAC and 26th nationally. She also has a field goal percentage of 55.7%, placing her 5th in the KCAC, and contributes 1.3 blocks per game, which is 4th in the conference.
·       Lillie Veer leads the team at the free throw line, shooting 79.2%, ranking 9th in the KCAC.
·       Hailey Contreras spreads the ball effectively, averaging 3.0 assists per game, which ranks 13th in the KCAC, while Adrian Hazelwood adds 2.2 assists per game, placing her 24th in the conference.
