CHICAGO, Ill. – Tabor College Baseball alum Jacob Webb signed a one-year contract with the Chicago Cubs back on December 23
rd, after spending the 2025 season with the Texas Rangers.
During the 2025 campaign, Webb appeared in 55 games, recorded 66 innings pitched and 58 strikeouts, with only 19 walks on the season. Over his past three campaigns, he has thrown at least 53 2/3 innings and has recorded an ERA of 3.69 or lower in each of those three seasons.
Webb was drafted by the Atlanta Braves and owns a 2.99 career ERA across six MLB (Major League Baseball) seasons split with the Braves, Los Angeles Angels, Baltimore Orioles, and the Rangers, winning a World Series title with the Braves in 2021.
While at Tabor, Webb was an integral piece of the Bluejays' trip to the NAIA World Series in 2014, which saw the team finish with an overall record of 51-13.
