KING'S FOUR TOUCHDOWNS PROVE TO BE THE DIFFERENCE AS BLUEJAY FOOTBALL STUNS (RV) KANSAS WESLEYAN ON THE ROAD

SALINA, Kan. – Something special was in the air in central Kansas Saturday evening, as Tabor College Football made the short trek up the road to take on (RV) Kansas Wesleyan. The Bluejays were looking to prove themselves in a big way and prove themselves they did.

  • With the win, Tabor improves to 2-3 on the season
  • Saturday's contest marked the 59th meeting between the two programs, dating back to Tabor's first season of football in 1967
  • The Bluejays snap the Coyotes seven-game winning streak in the series, dating back to 2018
  • The win marked TC's first win in Salina since the 2014 campaign, where they handled KWU, 70-35
  • KWU owns a 38-21 all-time record in the series
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
  • Ahmad Bailey posted a strong outing after coming back from an injury, connecting on 22 passes and throwing for 223 total yards and four touchdowns
  • A.J. King proved to be a force for the Tabor offense, hauling in 155 yards and four touchdowns on 12 receptions
  • Cameron Collier led the Bluejays on the ground, rushing for 97 net yards, with a longest rush of 54 yards
  • Weston Rock made his debut at wide receiver after starting the season on the special teams unit, hauling in 20 yards on two receptions
  • With so many plays to choose from, arguably the highlight play on offense came on a 65-yard pass from Bailey, brought in by King in the endzone
  • Dusty Daigle led Tabor's defense with nine total tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss of 12 total yards, and the lone Bluejay sack of the night for a loss of 10 yards
  • Sterling Gartin posted an excellent night, recording eight total tackles and one tackle-for-loss (TFL)
  • Brodrick Smith recorded arguably the best stat line of any specialist in the conference, punting for 211 total yards on five attempts, averaging 42.2 yards-per-punt, with a longest punt of 59 yards
  • All five of Smith's punts landed inside the 20-yard line, with one touchback and three fair catches
