STERLING, Kan. – Saturday evening marks the moment many people have been waiting for, the kickoff of the 2025 Tabor College Football season. After a successful round of spring ball and a long offseason, it is finally time. The Bluejays take on a familiar opponent in Sterling, a team they have seen 56 times since 1967.
For fans of the program, there will be several familiar faces from a season ago, including seasoned veterans in
Cam Pair,
Dusty Daigle,
Darriene Gibbs, and
Keegun Beims. Joining that group of returners are a number of new faces on both sides of the ball. Head Coach,
Mike Gardner, is excited to see how his group meshes together in a game setting.
"
Dusty Daigle is a really good tackler, and I am impressed with how his pass coverage has improved", said Gardner. "
Cam Pair is probably the most experienced player we have on either side of the ball, in terms of what he brings to the table in being able to handle all the adversity that will come in the first game. His leadership in the secondary is going to be big with helping some of those brand-new guys understand that it is a long game and a long season, and that 1, 2, or 10 plays aren't going to break you."
On the sideline, key staff additions have played a pivotal role the development of the program throughout the off-season and fall camp.
Christian Tuiasosopo,
Brooks Gardner, and
Deonte Hill have all joined the coaching ranks after incredible careers on the gridiron in the blue and gold, while
Adrian Yin joins the staff as the program's Director of Football Operations and Digital Content Manager.
"The bottom-line is that our Athletic Director, Jeff Brewer, is hands-down the best AD I have ever been associated with since my return to Tabor in terms of big-picture for the department, as well as having an understanding of ALL sports and how they ALL contribute to the entirety of the athletic department at a small college."
"His leadership has allowed us to have one of the best staffs of young coaches that I have had the pleasure of working with."
Kickoff is set for 6:00pm at Sterling's Smisor Stadium.
Live Stats will be available and the game will be broadcast live on the
KCAC Network.
