WINFIELD, Kan. – A two-day break gave way for the final game of the series between Tabor and Southwestern to take place, as the Bluejays made the trip down to Winfield on Tuesday afternoon. The Bluejays were looking to earn the series sweep to help improve their standings in the KCAC just one week before the conference tournament. Southwestern had other ideas, taking the final game of the series.
Game Three: L, 4-3
After two high-scoring outings on Friday, Tuesday's contest took four full innings for either team to jump on the board.
Aidan Martinez put the Bluejays in the scorebook first by way of an RBI double, scoring
Jared Mack.
Cole Schieffer followed up with an RBI single, sending Martinez to cross the plate, extending the lead to 2-0.
The Moundbuilders jumped on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the inning, cutting Tabor's lead by one, 2-1.
Micah Dvorak added another Bluejay run in the top of the 6
th inning, hitting an RBI single to send
Marcelo Aguirre in to score.
Southwestern added three more runs in the 6
th, 7
th, and 8
th innings, pulling ahead and sealing the game, 4-3.
Quintin Holman was charged with the loss on the hill.
Micah Dvorak,
Aidan Martinez, and
Cole Schieffer led the team offensively with one RBI apiece.
Marcelo Aguirre found the bases twice due to walks.
With the loss, Tabor fell to 25-19 overall on the season and 16-15 in the KCAC.
