HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Bluejays looked to bounce back in the first game of the afternoon on Saturday after falling in a disappointing result in the first game of the series on Friday.
Game Two: L, 18-17
The second game of the series got off to a bit of a rough start for TC as Ottawa took an early 8-0 lead after their first two innings.
Micah Dvorak scored in the 2
nd inning to put the Bluejays on the board. As the bottom of the 3
rd came around, four additional Bluejay runs came in to score after a big two-run homer by
Cody Moore, followed by an RBI double by Dvorak and an RBI single by
Aidan Martinez.
Ottawa added four more runs in the 4
th to bring the score to 12-5.
Moore smashed a three-run homer in the Bluejays' half of the inning, bringing TC within four.
Two more runs came in in the 6th inning for Ottawa after a scoreless 5
th inning by both sides.
The Bluejays added two more runs in the bottom of the 6
th courtesy of Moore and
Garryn Plummer to make it 14-10.
Despite three two-RBI homers by way of Mack,
Marcelo Aguirre and
Juan Rosa Gonzalez, Tabor's comeback effort fell short, and the Braves clinched the series with an 18-17 win.
Xander Roberts was charged with the loss on the mound, bringing his record to 3-2 on the season.
Cody Moore led the Bluejays on offense with six RBIs and two homers.
With the loss, the Bluejays fell to 19-11 on the season and 11-8 in KCAC play.
Tabor College Baseball is back in action on Tuesday, April 1
st as they make the trip to the northeast part of the state to take on the University of Saint Mary in a single mid-week game.
