CRETE, Neb. – Monday night marks the opening of the 2025-26 campaign for Head Coach Josh Roach and Tabor College Men's Basketball. The Bluejays are set to take on Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) foe Doane at 7:00pm in the 16
th all-time meeting between the two programs. The series dates back to 1952 and has certainly been competitive, with both teams splitting the last four matchups.
Fans have a lot to look forward to this season, as plenty of new faces enter the program alongside mainstays like
Zach Hiebert,
Kam Kaniper,
Jackson Baer, and
Langston Taylor. Gone are the days of watching
Kalep Crane light up the scoreboard and fill the stat sheets, but the plethora of newcomers should help the team pick up where Crane left off. Senior forward,
Niieihii Blackbear will certainly be a key piece to watch after returning from an injury that sidelined him for most of last season.
Monday's matchup should provide a solid measuring stick for both teams, and it gives Tabor a solid look at a GPAC foe before hosting two more teams from last league in the 2025 Tabor College Classic.
The game will be broadcast live on the
Doane Sports Network and
live stats will also be available for those who are unable to tune in.
