WITH SEASON ON THE LINE, BLUEJAY BASEBALL LOOKS to No. 4 SEEDED NORTHWESTERN OHIO

FAYETTE, Mo. – Bluejay Baseball will fight to keep their season alive tomorrow afternoon, facing the University of Northwestern Ohio in the first elimination game of the NAIA Opening Round in Fayette, Mo.

The Bluejays fell in a hard-fought meeting with host-school Central Methodist, battling into extra innings after a long weather delay, finally falling in walk off fashion, 7-6.

The Racers however, faced much stiffer competition, taking on the No. 1 seeded Royals of Hope International and finding themselves in an early 7-0 hole after the 2nd Inning.

These two programs will meet for the first time in history, with both squads taking different paths to get to the NAIA Opening Round. The Bluejays finished second in the regular season standings in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, heading into the conference tournament two weeks ago as the No. 2 overall seed but bowing out early. The Racers won the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference regular season title but took an early exit from their conference tournament as well.

This season marks the eight appearance in the NAIA Opening Round for Tabor, with the Bluejays advancing to the NAIA World Series twice, while Northwestern Ohio is making their sixth appearance in the NAIA Opening Round, having advanced to the NAIA World Series just once in program history.

First pitch for tomorrow's elimination game will take place at 2pm. The game will be broadcast live on the Heart Network and other tournament materials and resources are available here, as well as on taborbluejays.com.
