FAYETTE, Mo. – The Bluejay men should be pretty familiar with their opponent tomorrow afternoon as they face Central Methodist in their second elimination game of the tournament, after the Bluejays snuck past Northwestern Ohio this afternoon in walk-off fashion thanks to a bases-loaded single from
Cody Moore. The Eagles pulled within two runs of No. 1 seeded Hope International, but their effort turned out to not be enough, falling 10-8.
These two teams met on Monday in the first game of this Opening Round, with Central Methodist squeaking past the Bluejays in a 10 Inning thriller, 7-6.
Jackie Jimenez hit the only homer for either team in that game, with
Mikey Acosta,
Isaiah Cohens (2), and Tyler Mata-Lloyd also driving in runs for the Bluejays. For the Eagles, Jeremy Conforti (2), Carlos Negron, Bobby Nichols (2), Joseph Weatherford, and Zeb Wede all recorded RBIs in the win over Tabor.
Look for tomorrow to be another thriller, as this might be the most even matchup of the tournament.
Cutter Smith may be available for the Bluejays on the mound, as he threw just two innings in the win over Northwestern Ohio. Sebastian Escobar threw three innings this evening for the Eagles, but it would not seem likely that he returns in tomorrow's game, coming off such short rest.
First pitch will take place at 12pm. The game will be broadcast again on the
Heart Network and other tournament materials and resources are available
