HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Bluejays hosted Sterling College on Thursday morning with hopes of kick-starting their campaign, despite some positives for the women the Warriors were able to come out 6-1 victors on the day.
The doubles started off great for the women as Tara Stewart and Katherine Classen were able to dismantle their opponents 6-1 in the number one doubles match. Unfortunately, Fiorella Villa and Binita Sitoula lost 6-1 despite remaining competitive.
Sterling College was able to take the clean sweep in the singles contests, however Tara Stewart forced a third set tiebreaker losing 10-3 in the third set after a fiercely contested first and second set.
"Both teams fought hard with many close matches. Tara Stewart and Katie Classen recorded their first doubles win in their third match since pairing up for the first time in McPherson," said Head Coach John Ruder.
The Bluejays will next play on Monday, April 8th against Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Matches will start at 1pm.
