HILLSBORO, Kan. — The Tabor College women's tennis team dropped a dual to Friends on Saturday, falling 0-7 in conference action.
The Falcons controlled the match from the outset, sweeping all three doubles contests to claim the early 1-0 team advantage before carrying that momentum into singles play.
Doubles Play
Tabor faced a tough challenge in doubles, as Friends secured the point with wins across the board.
At No. 1 doubles, the pairing of
Amy Holloway and
Adah Branam fell 6-1 to Silva Avakian and Aneth Diaz.
The No. 2 duo of
Ashley Jimenez and
Jacilyn Seachris was defeated 6-0 by Carlotta Klee and Tammy-Ann Lombarth.
At No. 3 doubles, Tabor was unable to record a result due to lineup limitations, resulting in a default that completed the doubles sweep for Friends.
Singles Play
In singles competition, Tabor was unable to gain traction against a strong Friends lineup, with the Falcons winning four completed matches in straight sets.
At the top spot,
Amy Holloway dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Silva Avakian at No. 1 singles.
Jacilyn Seachris competed at No. 2 singles but fell 6-0, 6-1 to Aneth Diaz.
Adah Branam was defeated at No. 3 singles by Carlotta Klee, 6-1, 6-0.
Ashley Jimenez battled at No. 4 singles before falling 6-1, 6-2 to Alana Ewert.
Tabor picked up its lone team point via default at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, where Friends did not field players, resulting in wins for Tammy-Ann Lombarth and Cha'Lyse Andrews.
