LINDSBORG, Kan. - The Lady Bluejays took on the Bethany Swedes in their first conference matchup, despite some quality tennis played the Bluejays lost 6-1 at the end of the day.
The doubles matches were a tough one for the Bluejays as the Swedes made a clean sweep, however Katherine Classen and Binita Sitoula played a close match falling 6-4 in the end.
The singles matches did bring some promise for the Bluejays as Tara Stewart was able to defeat Bethany's Sofia Castillo 6-2, 6-3. Despite both losing, Katherine Classen and Fiorella Villa had very competitive first sets.
"I am proud of the women's team. They are working hard and play through every match from beginning to end without giving up. Each of our five women players are improving every week," said Head Coach John Ruder.
The Bluejays will be back in action on March 16th to face the Moundbuilders of Southwestern College. Matches will start at 11:00 am.
