HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Bluejays hosted the spires of St. Mary's on Saturday looking for their first conference win of the season, however a formidable St. Mary's was able to take the clean sweep and win 7-0 on the day.
The doubles was a tough time for Tabor as they only took three games from both the matches, with Tara Stewart and Fiorella Villa losing 6-1 and Binita Sitoula and Katherine Classen losing 6-2 respectively.
Singles unfortunately did not get better for the Bluejays despite some clear fight from Tabor. Despite this Tara Stewart had a competitive game at the number one singles match losing 6-3, 6-3 on the day.
"There is no lack of effort as the players battle all the way to the end of every game and every match. I'm proud of their effort and attitude. They represent Christ and Tabor College with their commitment and sportsmanship despite the difficulty of the circumstances. It is a real credit to their character and their love of the sport," said Head Coach John Ruder.
The Bluejays will next play on Thursday, March 28th at McPherson College. Matches will start at 3:00pm.
