HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Tabor College women's tennis team played host to the Bethel College Threshers on Wednesday, despite some close matches the Threshers took the 7-0 win.
The doubles matches were perhaps closer than the scores indicated with Tara Stewart and Fiorella Villa losing 6-3 in a competitive match against Halle Krehbiel and Daniela Casique of Bethel.
Tara Stewart also played a close match in singles forcing a fiercely contested third set tie breaker, losing 6-1, 7-5, 1-0 (11-9) in the end. Despite making improvements Bethel did take the clean sweep of the women's singles matches.
"Once again, I saw improvement in the play of the women's team. That is our goal to continue to improve with every match we play," said Head Coach John Ruder.
The women will next play Saturday, March 23rd at home against the University of St Mary. Matches will start at 1:00pm.
