TABOR FALLS SHORT AGAINST SOUTHWESTERN

WINFIELD, Kan.  -  The Tabor College women's tennis team traveled to Winfield for their second conference clash of the season, despite some strong tennis played the Bluejays would lose 5-2 on the day.

In the doubles the Bluejays had strong contests despite what the score indicated, with Tara Stewart and Fiorella Villa losing the number one doubles 6-2, and Katherine Classen and Binita Sitoula losing 6-2 as well in the number two doubles.

In the singles contests Tara Stewart forced a close second set losing 6-0, 6-4. But despite the losses, Binta Sitoula recorded her first singles win in fantastic fashion, winning 6-3, 6-3 against Rosennscar Elie of the Moundbuilders.

"I continue to see improvement in their play and look forward to seeing further development as the season progresses," said Coach John Ruder.

The Bluejays will next play host to local rivals Bethel College on Wednesday, March 20th, with matches set to start at 3:00pm.
