HILLSBORO, Kan. - The Bluejays played host to the Tigers of Doane University on Tuesday in torrid conditions. Despite losing 7-0 on the day, there were some positives to take for the Bluejays.
Tara Stewart and Fiorella Villa played a highly competitive doubles match losing 6-3 in the end. It was also Villa who forced a third set tiebreaker in her singles match losing 10-7 in a fierce contest. Katherine Classen had a very competitive first set with Doane's Sofia Hurst losing 6-4.
"The women played well as well. It was tough conditions for their first match of the season, but they held up well. Although we didn't post any wins, the ladies played well," said Coach John Ruder after the matches.
The Bluejays will next play hosts to Hastings College on Saturday, March 4th, with matches set to start at 9:00 a.m.
