HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Tabor College Athletic department celebrated Champions of Character Night at the basketball games this past Wednesday. Each year the KCAC selects recipients from each sport and each school. For each sport there is an individual winner, as well as a team that wins the award. Nomination packets for the award include: nominee essays, a list of all team/individual accomplishments, letters of recommendation and support, documentation of all service projects the team or individual was involved in, and verification of a 3.0 GPA or higher.
For the 2022-23 school year, Tabor College had two individuals recognized, as well as one team.
Senior
Danielle Allison was named the 2022-23 KCAC Female Student Athlete Champion of Character. Allison is a member of the Cross Country and Track and Field teams at Tabor and has won KCAC honors in both sports and has competed at NAIA National Championship meets.
Junior

"It's an honor for Tabor student-athletes and teams to be honored with KCAC Champions of Character awards", said Tabor College Champions of Character Liaison and Associate Athletic Director Dr. Karol Hunt. "There is a robust nomination process, and the award recipients are selected by the KCAC Champions of Character Committee."
Dr. Hunt also had a few words about the athletes recognized for the awards, "Danielle and Dillion have been recognized not only for their character but also their athletic accomplishments, academic success, and contributions to the campus and broader community. It reflects who they are as individuals.
The Tabor baseball team displayed strong character during competition as they handled several challenging situations with dignity and humility. Their example is inspiring to the young players with which they work in their annual clinic with League 42 in Wichita."
