PHOENIX, Ariz. – Bluejay Basketball made a special trip to Phoenix for a two-game stretch this week, taking on Nelson University Arizona on Friday evening.
The Bluejays came fresh off a conference loss to Avila, while the Warriors were coming off a big win over Doane on Wednesday.
Nelson took a 10-point lead at the 8:26 mark in the first half before building their lead to 24, with the score reading 58-34.
Tabor couldn't keep up in the second half, falling to NUAZ, 110-65.
Kalep Crane led TC in scoring with 12 points, followed by
James Shoenfelt and
Zach Hiebert with 11 points, while
Kam Kaniper and
Batosse Gado finished just outside double figures with nine and eight points respectively.
Hiebert and
Kreeland Avery led the team in steals with three, while Gado led the team in blocks with four. Shoenfelt cleaned the glass with eight boards on the night, while Gado finished just behind him with six.
The Bluejays have a quick turnaround as they play California Maritime Academy in a neutral-site contest on the campus of Nelson University Arizona on Saturday evening.
