LADY BLUEJAYS FALL TO NO. 7 OKWU IN SEASON FINALE

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – The Lady Bluejays traveled down to Bartlesville, Oklahoma on Saturday to face No. 7 Oklahoma Wesleyan in their last conference matchup. Following last Thursday's 0-0 draw against York University, Tabor looked to finish the regular season schedule on a short turnaround. A rainy day in Oklahoma led to rescheduled start times for both games, and the cloudy weather lingered throughout the contest. Oklahoma Wesleyan, ranked at No. 7 and being one of the most dominant teams in the NAIA, would prove to be a tough opponent for the Bluejays.

It didn't take long for the Eagles to strike first, netting the first goal of the match only five minutes into play. At the ten-minute mark, OKWU scored their second goal to extend their lead 2-nil. They showed complete offensive dominance throughout the half, allowing Tabor to attempt only two shots. Despite Tabor's strong defensive effort, the Eagles netted four more goals in the first half, occurring in the 25th, 39th, 42nd, and 43rdminute. April Ochoa and Raegan King were the lone Bluejays to attempt to convert, neither one being able to find the back of the net.

Oklahoma Wesleyan continued their offensive dominance in the second half, taking multiple shots on goal but coming up unsuccessful. Neve Mulrooney recorded 19 total saves on the day, keeping the damage to a minimum. OKWU went on to outshoot Tabor 32 to 3 during the match. Ochoa attempted another shot in the 89th minute in hopes of getting the Lady Bluejays on the board but couldn't convert on the opportunity. Oklahoma Wesleyan took the 6-nil victory as the Lady Bluejays wrapped up their season.

In their final game, the Lady Bluejays faced a formidable opponent in Oklahoma Wesleyan, marking a challenging end to their conference schedule. Despite a strong defensive effort and impressive goalkeeping by Neve Mulrooney, who capped her season with 96 saves and six shutouts, Tabor was unable to overcome OKWU's offensive power. Although they fell short in this contest, the Bluejays can look back on a season highlighted by resilience and defensive achievements. As they move forward, the team will build on these experiences and prepare to come back even stronger next season.
