HILLSBORO, Kan. – Saturday's action on the gridiron offered fans a treat as Friends came to town for the first matinee action of the 2024 campaign.
Willie Green's 16-yard rush highlighted the Bluejays' offense in the first quarter, but TC was unable to capitalize, and time ran out in the first quarter with the Falcons holding a 7-0 lead. Friends led 17-0 at halftime, after Tabor's defense held the Falcons to just a field goal on the final drive of the half.
Brooks Gardner made a statement in the second half with four tackles in a row and a huge sack that led to a seven-yard loss for the Falcons.
Friends went on to win, 24-0.
With the loss, the Bluejays drop to 1-4 on the season and look to bounce back Saturday in this year's iteration of the Menno Bowl against Bethel.
