RESERVE BLUEJAY MEN FALL IN HEARTBREAKER AT KANSAS WESLEYAN

SALINA, Kan. – The Tabor College Reserve Men's Basketball team headed up north to Salina last night to take on Kansas Wesleyan University's Reserve team. The Bluejays were coming off a nail-biting win over Ottawa University almost two weeks ago, while the Coyotes were coming off a loss at Bethel College last Wednesday.

The first half would prove to be an exciting affair, as it would end with both teams tied at 33 apiece. The Bluejays were led in scoring in the first half by Creighton Kukula with nine, while Hayden Lucas had eight, Drew Wertenberger and Langston Taylor each had five, and Jordy Dolloff, Fate Thiel, and Kam Kaniper each had two.

The second half would prove to be just as tight, with the Coyotes ultimately pulling away to win by four, 85-81. Kukula and Wertenberger led the Bluejays in scoring with 23 points each, Lucas finished with 11, Dolloff and Taylor each had nine, while Kaniper, Thiel, and Shan Williams each had two.

Head Reserve Coach Ethan Gager had this to say about his team's effort, "I'm Proud of the way we competed for 40 minutes, we did some good things tonight, just a few small miscues that we need to work to clean up. Can't dwell on this one though, all we can do is begin preparing for Sterling and make sure we're ready for the next one."

The Reserve Bluejay Men will kick off a four game homestand with a matchup against Sterling College next Wednesday. The game will tip off at 3:45 pm and will be streamed on the Tabor College YouTube page.
