Box Score WICHITA, Kan. The Tabor Bluejays went into the game against the Friends Falcons after an emphatic 2-1 over rival McPherson. However, two early goals and one in the second half was the Bluejays undoing and made for a 3-0 loss for the men.
The first half started slow from the Bluejays and the Falcons came out early and looked to apply immediate pressure on the Tabor backline. With goals in the 6th minute, which was an emphatic strike, and 8th minute of the game, the Bluejays were in a 2-0 slump going into halftime.
The second half of the game brought more intent from the Bluejays as they looked to get back into the game. The Tabor offense was able to get chances at goal with Christoph Seeger and Sam Butler getting good looks. However, all this pressure was not enough and the Falcons were able to score in the 82nd minute to put the game beyond any doubt.
"We struggled to get caught up to the pace of the game. We fought hard to get back in the game but we dug ourselves too big of a hole against a quality opponent on the road," Head Coach Grant Brubacher said.
The Bluejays will be at home on Wednesday, September 20th, for a non-conference matchup against the Warriors of Midland University with kickoff set for 7:00 pm.
Tabor College is a Christ-centered institution located in Hillsboro, Kansas. The Bluejays are members of the NAIA and compete in the KCAC.
