Box Score SALINA, Kan. The Bluejays traveled to Salina for the first round of the KCAC postseason tournament looking to get revenge for the 2-1 loss earlier on in the season. Two goals in quick succession from the Coyotes meant a 2-0 loss and the end of the season for the Bluejays.
The first half of the game started well for the Bluejays as they dominated possession and were gaining a good foothold in the game. Both Owen Bellamy and Ander Bengoetxea had good chances to put the Bluejays up in the game, however no team was able to break the deadlock making the score at halftime 0-0.
The second half allowed for the Coyotes to find their way into the game and it did not take long for them to take the lead, as they were able to score off a corner kick in the 50th minute. A misplaced pass from the Bluejays in the 53rd minute of the game allowed the Coyotes to extend their lead. Despite the effort from the Bluejays they were not able to turn the tide of the game, making the final score 2-0 in favor of the Coyotes.
"It was disappointing to go out the way we did, but I am very proud of the boys for battling hard against adversity," Head Coach Grant Brubacher said after the game.
Tabor College is a Christ-centered institution located in Hillsboro, Kansas. The Bluejays are members of the NAIA and compete in the KCAC.
