Box Score Hillsboro, Kan. The Bluejays came into the senior night contest after a disappointing defeat to Behten in midweek. A hard-fought contest meant that the shares were spoiled in an end to end 2-2 tie.
The first half of the contest started very well for the Bluejays with Sam Butler finding himself on the score sheet in the 9th minute. However this lead would not last for long as the Spires were able to equalize in the 22nd minute. This meant a 1-1 scoreline at halftime in a very even half.
The second half of the contest was dominated by the Bluejays as they registered 12 shots on target. However the Spires found a way to get ahead in the contest by scoring in the 62nd minute. The Bluejays did not go down without a fight, as Ander Bengoetxea scored in the 87th minute off a Daniel Davis header to tie the game 2-2. This score would hold out to make the final score 2-2.
"It was a good result going forward for the rest of the season," Head Coach Grant Brubacher said after the game.
The Bluejays will next play at home against the Bethany College Swedes, on Oct. 18 with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
