Hincher is entering his fourth year as the head coach for the Men’s and Women’s cross country team. He came to Tabor from Montreat College in Montreat, N.C., where he was a four-year letter winner, three-year captain, and five time NAIA National Qualifier between cross country and outdoor track and field.
Hincher was named to the Appalachian Athletic Conference all-freshman team and selected as an All-Conference performer in 2016 and 2017. During the 2018 season, Hincher was a national qualifier in cross country. Hincher also qualified for the NAIA outdoor track and field championships all four years during his time at Montreat.
Since arriving at Tabor, the Men’s and Women’s cross country programs produced nine national qualifiers and never finished lower than fifth at the conference meet. The program is reaching new heights under Hincher’s leadership, producing the first appearance in the national poll during the 2022 season. Coaching the distance runners during indoor track and outdoor track, school records have been produced in 13 different events while boasting two All-Americans during the 2023 Indoor season. Hincher was named Women’s KCAC coach of the year for cross country in 2022 along with being named KCAC Men’s Indoor Track Assistant Coach of the Year in 2022.
A Bachelor of Science-Exercise Science major, Hincher graduated in May 2019 from Montreat College and later completed his MBA at Tabor College in 2021. He is a USATF Level I Certified Coach along with holding an Endurance Specialist Certification from USTFCCCA.
Rylan married Lindsay (Crist) in October 2020 and lives in Hillsboro, with their two dogs Winston and Mazie.
