Coaching Backgroud:

Coach Allen returns to Tabor after spending the 2015-16 Cross Country and Track seasons as a Graduate Assistant at Northwest Missouri State University. During his time there he helped coach the Cross Country, distance, and mid-distance squads to a total of 11 MIAA All Conference performances and 5 MIAA Honorable Mention performances.

Athletic Backround:

Coach Allen ran for the Tabor Track and Cross Country programs for four years. He was a two time captain for the Bluejays and helped lead the Men's Cross Country team to their highest ever finish at the KCAC Conference Cross Country meet. In all, Allen earned 10 KCAC All-Conference awards and 5 Honorable Mention awards in Cross Country and Track. He was also a 4 time NAIA National Qualifier in Cross Country, 3 time in Outdoor Track & Field, and 2 time in Indoor Track & Field. Allen is the current school record holder in the Outdoor 10k, Indoor 5k, 3k, Distance Medley Relay (1600 meter leg), and Cross Country 8k.

Academic Backgroud: 

Coach Allen is a 2011 graduate of Hillsboro High School and went on to graduate from Tabor in the spring of 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education with a concentration in Sports Studies. Allen was named to the KCAC All-Academic team 3 times and was a 2 time NAIA Academic All-American. Currently he is finishing his Master's degree in Recreation through Northwest Missouri State University.

Faith and Family Backgroud:

Coach Allen professes a strong belief in Christ and it is his goal to incorporate that into his coaching and the team's culture. Allen has recently relocated and lives in Hillsboro with his wife Jessica.
