Nathan Howard is entering his fourth year in the Tabor College Athletic Department and his second year as the Bluejays' full-time Sports Information Director. Howard arrived at Tabor in the summer of 2023 as a Graduate Assistant Sports Information Director and served as the interim SID for a month and a half. Following the 2023-24 school year, he was named Sports Information Director while he finished his MBA and began serving in a full-time capacity in 2025-26.
Since arriving at Tabor, Howard has earned national recognition for his work in promoting and telling the stories of Tabor College student-athletes. In 2025, he earned T-9th Place honors in the Game Day Program category in the NAIA-SIDA 2024-25 Walt McAlexander Publications Contest. He followed up that recognition by earning CSC (College Sports Communicators) Best of NAIA First Place and Second Place honors for Media Guides in 2025-26.
For the past three years, he has been in charge of editing and maintaining taborbluejays.com, keeping and maintaining accurate statistics and records, creating and editing athletic department publications (media guides, gameday programs, game notes), as well as writing gameday previews, recaps, and other press releases and articles. He also serves as the "Voice of the Bluejays" as the public address announcer for several sports, while also serving as the play-by-play announcer for several sports.
In addition to his work at Tabor, Howard has worked three NAIA Men's Basketball Tournaments (serving one year as the media timeout coordinator, while writing post-game recaps for NAIA Athletic Communications for two years), two NJCAA Men's and Women's Soccer Tournaments (as statistician and PA announcer) and one NAIA Men's Soccer Tournament (as PA announcer), as well as serving as the PA announcer at the 2026 NAIA Baseball Opening Round in Salina, Kan. He has also regularly worked with the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) at various tournaments, serving as the play-by-play announcer at the 2024 KCAC Baseball Tournament, and the 2025 and 2026 KCAC Softball Tournament, as well as serving as one of two PA announcers at the 2026 KCAC Baseball Tournament. He has also served as the PA announcer for several KCAC Men's and Women's Soccer Tournaments and served ran the conference social media accounts during the 2023-24 KCAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championship Monday. Outside of his experience at the college level, Howard has served as an official statistician for The Basketball Tournament in 2025 and 2026. He has also served as a fill-in PA announcer for the Salina Sliders summer collegiate baseball team and Hillsboro High School.
Howard is a 2023 graduate of MidAmerica Nazarene University, where he served as a Student-Assistant Men's Basketball Coach under NAIA Hall of Famer, Rocky Lamar in 2021-22 and Coordinator of Basketball Operations under Adam Hepker in 2022-23. Prior to his time at MNU, Howard spent two seasons as the Student-Assistant Men's Basketball Coach and Head Men's Basketball Manager at Johnson County Community College.
Born in Aurora, Colo. and raised in Aurora as well as Overland Park, Kan., Howard currently resides in Hillsboro and is an active member at Zion Lutheran Church (LCMS).
