NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – Saturday proved to be a beautiful day for the first daytime cross country meet of the season as Bluejay Cross Country competed at the Muthama-Rogers Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Bethel College.
The Bluejays took advantage of the near-perfect weather conditions and posted several strong performances after a brief two-week break from competition.
On the women's side
Julianna Maxfield paced the field, finishing in 2
nd place and running a time of 20:02.
Daysha Allison also posted a top 10 finish, running a time of 22:06, good for 8
th place.
Addison Jost and
Rebekah Hernandez-Paz also earned medals, running times of 25:03 and 25:07 respectively. Those performances helped the Tabor Women take home a 2
nd place finish, building on an already successful start to the season.
The men also had a strong outing, taking 3
rd overall.
Wade Ratzlaff led the way for the Bluejay Men, running his best time of the season so far (28:55) and taking 11
th place. Junior transfer
Ethan Thompson was right on his heels and ran a lifetime best of 28:57 while snagging 12
th place.
David Rodriguez,
Samuel Andres, and
Jacob Buller also posted strong outings for the men.
Bluejay Cross Country returns to action on Saturday, October 24
th as they compete in the Blazing Tiger Invitational in Ashland, Neb.
