The Tabor College men's and women's tennis teams hit the road Monday morning to take on the Friends University Falcons in a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup. The Bluejay men came away with a 4-3 victory, while the women fell 0-7, despite continuing to compete with determination.
Men's Recap – Tabor 4, Friends 3
The Bluejay men earned a crucial road win in a closely contested match by taking the doubles point and splitting singles play.
In doubles, Ko Osuga and Jake Goertzen cruised to a dominant 6-0 win at No. 1, while Ethan Kutz and Peter Jost pulled out a 6-4 victory at No. 2 to clinch the doubles point for Tabor. Alexandre Boljesic and John Ferley fell 4-6 at No. 3.
In singles, Osuga secured a gritty three-set win at No. 1, 7-6, 3-6, 6-1, while Kutz added another win at No. 3, 7-5, 6-2. Jost sealed the match at No. 5 with a strong comeback victory: 2-6, 6-3, 6-0.

Despite the scoreline, the Tabor women (0-15 overall, 0-11 KCAC) continued to show resilience and effort throughout the match.
In doubles, Fiorella Villa and Allison Johnson held tight before falling 3-6 at No. 1, while Piper Foegen and Cassidy Boyer dropped their match 1-6 at No. 2.
In singles action, Villa and Johnson both earned early games but were outpaced, falling 1-6, 1-6 and 2-6, 0-6, respectively. Foegen, Margaret Bates, and Boyer all fell by identical 0-6, 0-6 scores.

The guys handled their business today, winning the doubles point and then splitting the singles matches," said Head Coach Jeremy Nelson. "We will wrap up on Saturday against OKWU! The Bluejays return home for their final match of the regular season on Saturday, April 19, against Oklahoma Wesleyan University. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m. in Hillsboro.
