The Tabor College men's and women's tennis teams returned to action on Saturday morning, hosting the Evangel University Valor in Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference play. Despite a series of competitive performances, the Bluejays came up short, with the men falling 1-6 and the women losing 0-7.
Men's Recap – Evangel 6, Tabor 1
Tabor's lone team point came from Ethan Kutz at No. 3 singles, where he secured a hard-fought 6-3, 7-6 victory to highlight the day for the Bluejays.
In doubles play, Ko Osuga and Jake Goertzen teamed up to claim a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, giving Tabor early momentum. However, Evangel claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Kutz and Peter Jost fell 3-6, while Alexandre Boljesic and John Ferley dropped their match 1-6.
Singles competition featured a number of close contests. Osuga pushed his match to three sets before falling 0-6, 6-4, 2-6. Goertzen also battled through a tight first set before losing 6-7, 1-6. Boljesic, Jost, and Ferley were unable to overcome strong play from Evangel in straight-set losses.

The Tabor women's team continued to fight through their KCAC schedule, ultimately falling to a strong Evangel squad. Fiorella Villa and Allison Johnson fell 3-6 at No. 1 doubles, while Piper Foegen and Cassidy Boyer dropped their match 1-6 at No. 2.
In singles play, Villa battled but lost 1-6, 1-6, while Johnson fell 2-6, 0-6. Foegen, Margaret Bates, and Boyer each lost their matches 0-6, 0-6, as the Valor swept all courts in straight sets.
