HILLSBORO, Kan. - Tabor College is set to expand its athletic offerings in the fall of 2025 with the addition of a Dance program that will work along with its cheer program. The college recently announced the new program, which will begin its performance season in the upcoming fall. The program will be led by current Head Cheer and Dance Coach, Krista Matlock, and Associate Head Cheer Coach, Rylee Yoder, alongside new Associate Head Coach for Dance, Amanda Abrahams.

After a brief conversation with Coach Krista Matlock, she shared her excitement about the new program: "I'm thrilled for the opportunity to bring a dance program to Tabor and to work alongside such talented coaches, faculty, and inspiring students. We're excited about the potential growth this will bring to campus life, and we look forward to this new chapter together." Coach Abrahams also expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "It's an honor to be part of Tabor's new dance team. Dance is my passion, and I'm eager to share my knowledge and experience with our students."

They'll be showcasing pom routines and energizing the crowd with school spirit at men's and women's basketball, football, and a variety of other campus events. With the new dance team on board, they'll bring added creativity, energy, and style to every performance, helping to improve the atmosphere at sports games and other campus events. 

This program is the newest addition to the TC athletics department since Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving was added in the 2014-2015 school year. 

Athletic Director Jeff Brewer shared, "We are thrilled to welcome Amanda Abrahams to Tabor College as the Associate Head Dance Coach. Amanda is the perfect fit to lead, develop, and grow our dance program."
