SALINA, Kan. – The Tabor College Reserve Women's Soccer squad took the pitch for the first time in the 2024 campaign on Tuesday evening. The match was originally slated to kick off at 2 PM but was moved to a 7:30 PM start time due to the extreme heat across central Kansas.
The Lady Bluejays came into the match ready to face the 1-0-1 Coyotes, who were fresh off a 5-1 drubbing of Central Methodist in Fayette, Mo. on Saturday.
Cassidy Boyer highlighted the match with her performance on the pitch, taking two shots on goal, with one of those shots saved by the Coyotes' keeper, while the other was cleared off the line by a KWU defender.
Tabor ultimately came up short, dropping a 2-0 result.
Despite the result, Head Coach Thomas Gaskell was pleased with his squad's performance, "The girls played well. It was good for the freshmen to get their first experience playing college footy, and I am encouraged by this group."
The Reserve Lady Bluejays return to the pitch Monday, September 2
nd as they take on Highland Community College in a 2 PM match in Hillsboro at Joel H. Wiens Stadium.
