HILLSBORO, Kan. – Tabor College Director of Athletics, David Ediger, has announced he will be stepping down from that position, effective June 30
th.
Ediger will continue to play a prominent role in the Hillsboro community as he has been named the Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Hillsboro. This role will allow him to work more closely with the residents of Hillsboro and Marion County, providing them with experiences and opportunities for all ages. Ediger looks forward to expanding the slate of recreation options offered for the adults in the community, as well as continue to provide a robust menu of activities for the children and youth of the community.
"I have really enjoyed serving Tabor College as the Director of Athletics. I look forward to keeping a positive relationship with Tabor in my new role. I wish Tabor only the absolute best as it continues to prepare people for a life of learning, work and service for Christ and His Kingdom", remarked Ediger.
A 1995 graduate of Tabor College with a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Physical Education, Ediger played tennis and served as a student-assistant coach with the men's basketball program and continued to serve as an assistant men's basketball coach and tennis coach after graduating. Most recently, Ediger spent the last two years as the Director of Athletics at Tabor, after serving as Sports Information Director for one year and Associate Director of Athletic Communication for three years. In between his stints at Tabor, Ediger served as the Assitant Principal, Athletic Director, and Head Girls Basketball Coach at Cimarron High School in western Kansas for almost 15 years.
Ediger earned KCAC All-Conference recognition as a member of the Bluejay Men's Tennis team, and was also a four-year letterwinner for Bluejay Tennis, as well as a three-year team captain. He was also inducted into the Tabor College Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 1997 Men's Basketball team that reached the NAIA Fab Four.
Ediger will continue to serve in a volunteer capacity, serving as an occasional play-by-play analyst and public address announcer for the Bluejay Sports Information Department.
