LINDSBORG, Kan. - The Tabor College men's tennis team made short work of their conference rivals Bethany College Swedes winning 6-1 on the day with some very dominant tennis on display.
In the doubles matches the Bluejays made a clean sweep of the Swedes with Ko Osuga and Jean Paul Fort winning 6-3 in the number one match. Stephano Moreano Chan and Jake Goertzen won 6-4 in a very well played match, and lastly the dynamic duo of Nathan Coria and Alexis Torres dismantled their opponents 6-0.
In the singles matches Osuga won in a comfortable game 6-4, 6-2. Fort had a thrilling singles encounter with a score of 2-6, 6-1, and was up 4-0 in the third set tiebreak when his opponent retired. Jake Goertzen was also victorious in his matchup winning 6-3, 7-5 and Moreano Chan won his singles match in a couple of tiebreakers, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (4). Lastly, John Ferley also has a winning singles match dominating his opponent 6-2, 6-0 despite recently coming back from injury.
"I am proud of our players' composure and their ability to bounce back and play through the rough patches in their matches. The men are working hard and it shows in their performance on the court. I'm looking forward to our next match at Southwestern on Saturday, March 16th," said Coach John Ruder.
The Bluejays will next play on the road at Southwestern College on March 16th, matches are set to start at 11:00am.
