HILLSBORO, Kan.  -  The Tabor men's team earned their first win of the spring with an emphatic 6-1 win over the Hastings College Broncos. 

The doubles was a fairly dominant affair from Jean Paul Fort and Ko Osuga as they won 6-3 on the day. Jake Goertzen and Stephano Moreano Chan also played a close doubles match, falling 6-4 in the end. 

Despite losing, Osuga forced a third set tiebreaker over Hastings' Nick Smeltzer losing 10-7 in the tiebreaker set. Fort had a dominant win over his singles opponent winning 6-1, 6-0. Moreano Chan won his singles match in a dominant display 6-1, 6-0. Jake Goertzen and Carlos Robles also won their singles matches with closely fought second sets winning 6-2, 7-6 (5) and 6-1, 7-6 (3), respectively.

"I was proud of how our players played. Even the matches we lost were extremely close, and could easily have gone our way. Now it's on to conference play at Bethany on Wednesday," said Coach John Ruder. 

The Bluejays will next play on the road to open conference play at Bethany College. Matches are set to start at 3:00pm.
