HILLSBORO, Kan. - Tabor faced the University of St Mary's on Saturday looking to rediscover winning form. They were unlucky not to come away with the win in the end. It was definitely a contest for the ages, losing 4-3.
The Bluejays dominated the doubles contest taking the clean sweep in emphatic fashion. Jean Paul Fort and Ko Osuga took the number one match 6-4. Stephano Moreano Chan and Carlos Robles won 6-2, lastly Nathan Coria and Alexis Torres dominated their match winning 6-2.
The singles was unfortunately the un-doing for Tabor but despite this there was some brilliant tennis played from Tabor. Both Ko Osuga and Jean Paul Fort were unlucky in their games losing 7-5, 6-2 and 6-3, 7-5 respectively. Stephano Moreano Chan won in a thrilling and grueling contest winning 7-6 (4), 2-6, 7-6 (9) with some amazing tennis played by the senior. Carlos Robles won in dominant fashion winning 6-3, 6-2. John Ferley was unlucky to lose in a close fought game losing 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 on the day.
"I'm proud of the way our men competed and fought to the last point in every match," said Head Coach John Ruder.
The Bluejays will next be in action on Thursday March 28th at McPherson College. Matches will start at 3:00pm.
